Join Juliana MacDowell for a lively history and discussion about her life at the Kentlands when it was still her grandfather, Otis Beall Kent's "gentleman's farm." She'll share about his background, his inspiration for creating the (once) 1000 acre wildlife preserve and her experiences growing up on the farm. The Kent family's stewardship began in 1942 and ended with the sale of a remaining 352 acres to developer, Joseph Alfandre, for the historical planning of the neo-traditional town plan that became the Town of Kentlands one finds there today. Juliana's will follow the lecture-discussion with a concert featuring her original Pop-Americana music. Accompanied by illustrious D.C. area guitarist, Mike Ault and widely hailed bassist, Larry Melton, the trio will perform selections from Juliana's latest album, recorded with legendary Nashville producer, Bil VornDick, and released in 2023. Details and tickets available on the The Kentlands Arts Barn website.
